Dominating the Inter-Regional Duathlon in London: South East Team Takes the Crown
FreightGuard was proud to sponsor the South East IRD team in this year’s Inter-Regional Duathlon (IRD), an annual competition between different regions in the UK. The South East, London, and East regions all compete against each other in age-specific run/bike/run races, to identify a top three in both the Open and Female categories for four different age groups
The South East team, with FreightGuard’s support, delivered an impressive performance with many competitors receiving top-three finishes. These podium finishes led the team to secure the overall victory. The South East IRD team’s win was the result of dedication and seamless execution, which is a mirror of the values of FreightGuard.
Empowering Young Female Talent in Motorsport
FreightGuard believes in empowering young athletes, and our sponsorship of a promising young female racing driver, Nicole Lombard, further enforces this commitment. Racing in the Modifieds A Class at Dezzi Raceway, Port Shepstone, she drove her MK1 VW Scirocco straight to the top of the podium. With a first-place finish in her class, she demonstrated not only her talent but also the importance of nurturing young female racers in a traditionally male-dominated sport. Nicole raced again later in October, in the VW Challenge racing series at Red Star Raceway, in Delmas. She drove her socks off in a VW Polo and waved the FreightGuard Flag Proudly.
